‘Dancing With You’ was written about the push and pull nature often felt while trying to court somebody. I’ve always hated that instead of being straight up and honest, games are played and intentions or feelings are sometimes hidden or fake. In the end, the person who cares more and puts in more effort ends up being the one who’s hurt and loses, while the other person wins because they just get to walk away, with probably all of their feelings and sense of self intact. However, the universe sometimes works in funny ways and I guess people sometimes come running back. But after all that has happened, the damage is already done and they already blew their chance. All of a sudden, the loser might have actually been the true winner all along. And in my opinion, they’re better off without that person—who’s now chasing them—anyway.
